Got a free ticket to this the other night thanks to Trucker. I’ve never been to a house/dubstep show before, and it was everything that I hoped and expected it to be. If I were to tell you that a cake, salad, champagne, life rafts, LED lights, cranberry juice, and a lot of kids high on E with super bright clothes on were all in the same place; it would sound like I was in Hunter S. Thompson’s hotel room in Vegas circa 1978. (replace the E with ether and cocaine maybe) But yes, all that happened and more; and it probably wasn’t even that surprising to the fans who frequent house shows or raves-to me on the other hand- it was unlike anything I had ever seen. I’ve never seen an artist have more control over a crowd than the DJ’s on stage the other night. Even though at some points the show seems completely staged, calculated, and precisely planned, it still comes off as shear madness. It was fun to be a part of and any music fan should see a celebrity DJ at least once. (if anything, for the people watching) Enjoy.
